January 18, 2013: South side businesses and the town breathed a sigh of relief when the new roundabout was officially opened to all traffic on Friday afternoon.
Gloucester County Freeholder, Heather Simmons, was on hand with Swedesboro Councilmen, Dave Flaherty and Patrick Wilbraham for a low key ribbon cutting to commemorate the opening of the new roundabout.
Shortly after the ribbon fell, the crews put on some finishing touches, pulled their signage and trucks away, and traffic began to flow.
The new traffic pattern is expected to slow traffic entering town and keep an even flow from all streets at this junction.
Businesses in the area remained open throughout the duration of construction despite the detours.
