Kings Highway will be alive with Christmas cheer as Swedesboro celebrates the start of the holiday season with its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 30th at 1pm.
The Greater Swedesboro Business Associate sponsored parade will feature a variety of floats, community groups and performing groups including a chance to come out and dance to Duffy’s String Band and meet the Grinch and Elmo.
The Parade will be conclude with an appearance by Santa. Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children in the Woolwich Fire House until 4pm.
While at the parade be on the lookout for the Who-pons being handed out at the Christmas parade that day! These coupon booklets will be filled with great deals to many local businesses and will help visitors embrace shop local Saturday.
After the parade head to Tavro 13 for a party featuring music by The Chuck Harms Band w/ Franny Smith. Be sure to spend the day dressed in your Most ‘Festive’ Christmas Sweater as there will be a contest with prizes awarded!
The day’s events will wrap up at 6:30pm, with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and caroling at Borough Hall.
Organizers would like to increase the community’s involvement by having more residents and businesses enter floats in the parade. Please register by November 18h. Applications are available at www.greatersba.org and groups interested in help creating their float concept may contact Lauren Dunn at (609) 560-9711.
The parade will take place on Kings Highway at Walter Hill School and will continue all the way through the downtown where it will end at Church Street.
The parade has a rain date for the following weekend Saturday December 7th.
