The new Swedesboro Ice Rink, located at the Swedesboro Auction Park, has been a huge hit since opening for use in January of this year! The rink is available for use when the green flags at the entrance are flying, during the posted hours. Red flags mean that the rink is closed due to weather and/or rink conditions.
The rink is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 7pm, and from Friday through Sunday from 9am to 10pm. Ice hockey is permitted from Monday through Thursday from 8pm to 10pm, and is not permitted from Friday through Sunday. Use of the rink is only permitted when the green flags are flying.
The Borough of Swedesboro has received a great deal of positive feedback about the Swedesboro Ice Rink. Resident Jaime Richardson commented, “I just wanted to say thank you to our Council members, Public Works department, and everyone who helped make this project happen. As a resident, I really love how much this town cares about its people. Everything the Borough does for us is deeply appreciated!”
The Borough does ask that visitors to the rink dispose of trash in the blue bin located at the entrance to the rink, and that skaters, parents, and guardians help to enforce the rules of the rink to keep this awesome new recreational facility clean and safe for all who use it.
Regarding the installation of the rink, Mayor Thomas Fromm noted, “I would like to thank Kirk Goehringer for his help putting the rink together – and volunteers Matt Cahill, Sal Barbagallo, Rosario Barbagallo, Dave Flaherty, Helen Fromm, Bob Bowen, Bob Gahrs and the Kingsway Hockey Team. I also thank Lois Elder for her efforts, the Borough workers, and Cavallaro Contractors for their professionalism getting the site ready for the rink.”
