New Jersey Heroes, a non-profit foundation started by First Lady Mary Pat Christie, is offering a $5,000 scholarship for NJ seniors in high school to use towards their post-secondary education. The Spirit of a Hero Scholarship is for students who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism and community contribution, in the spirit of New Jersey Heroes. New Jersey Heroes recognizes and celebrates the inspiring work that is done by individuals and non-profit organizations across the Garden State to improve their communities and the lives of New Jersey residents.
High School Seniors can apply directly on the NJ Heroes website http://newjerseyheroes.org/index/2015-spirit-of-a-hero-scholarship-application-form/ or send in the application via US mail.
