Broken Street Lights
If you notice that a street light is not working, you may report it directly to Borough Hall. All you need is the pole location and pole number. The pole number can be found on a metal plate attached to the telephone or light pole at about eye-level.
You may also report it directly to Atlantic City Electric at this link

Trash and Recycling
Trash and Recycling is collected on Thursday each week. If a holiday falls on the Thursday, pick up will be on Friday.

Trash Collection
*Garbage containers are supplied by the Borough of Swedesboro and are the property of the Borough. Issued garbage containers stay with the residential unit. Residents are to use the brown issued container for their household garbage. The Borough has contracted with Logan Township for trash and recycling pick up. They utilize an automated truck. Only cans provided to you are compatible with the trucks.
* Garbage may be placed curbside no earlier than 5 p.m. prior to collection day and no later than 5 a.m. the day of your scheduled collection.
* Containers shall be removed from curbside no later than 9 p.m. on your collection day.
Bulk Household Trash
* Bulk trash collection is on the first Friday of each month. Please call Borough Hall at 856-467-0202 to be included on the list for pick up. You may call at any time during the month to be placed on the list. All requests must be made by noon on Wednesday prior to the first Friday.
* Bulk items must be placed curbside for collection.
* Household bulk items include but not limited to, mattresses, box springs, wood furniture, couches, sofas, chairs, non-metal doors and windows, carpet and the like.
* Carpet must be cut into 4 foot lengths, rolled and tied in bundles weighing less than 50 pounds.
* Mattresses / box springs placed out in in climate weather need to be wrapped in plastic to prevent saturation.
* The Borough of Swedesboro does not accept soils of any type, concrete, concrete blocks or concrete materials, asphalt, pavers, bricks, stones or the likes. For disposal contact a concrete/asphalt recycler.

Metal and E-Waste Collection
Metal (appliances, etc.) and E-Waste pick up is on the first and third Fridays each month. This includes all metal items and electronics waste (TVs, Computers. Monitors, Printers, etc.) Please call Borough Hall at 856-467-0202 to be placed on the list by noon on the Wednesday prior to pick up.
Refrigerators and other like items need the doors removed or secured so no one can be trapped inside.

Single Stream Recycling Collection

* New residents purchasing new homes that require a container may call 856-467-0202.
* Single stream recyclables maybe placed curbside no earlier than 5 p.m. on Wednesday and no later than 6 a.m. on Thursday.
* Containers shall be removed from curbside no later than 9 p.m. on your collection day.
*Recycling items include but not limited to, newspaper, cardboard, junk mail, office paper, magazines, books, paper bags, juice boxes, plastic containers (ONLY #’s 1 &2), glass containers, aluminum and tin/steel beverage and food cans. Place all recycling in cart loose. NO PLASTIC BAGS are to be in your recycle cart. The Borough is charged a fee if the load contains any place bags or non recyclable material.
* Please remove caps from all containers. The caps are not to be recycled.
* The blue recycling container is not for wood, grass clippings, or other vegetative waste, household refuse, plastic bags or e-waste. Use for single stream recycling only.

Vegetation Collection
Vegetation collection is every Thursday during the Spring, Summer and Fall months. Collection is reduced during the Winter months. If a holiday falls on Thursday then material is collected on Friday. Material needs to be properly prepared to be collected.
* Yard clippings, grass and weeds, plant waste, old mulch and the like will be collected if placed in your Green Yard Waste Cart provided by the Borough.
The green yard waste cart is the only container that can be used.
All other containers will not be emptied.
Yard waste must be able to fit into the carts with the lid closed.
No Branches, Logs, or Stumps may be placed on the ground outside of the cart. They will not be picked up.
* NO PLASTIC BAGS.
*Materials may be placed to the curb no earlier than 5 p.m. prior to collection day and no later than then 6 a.m. the day of collection.
* All containers shall be removed from curbside by 9 p.m. day of collection.
*Tree branches need to be 3 foot or less in length and placed in green container, the lid must be able to close, no debris shall be sticking out of the cart, any loose or bundled branches will not be collected.
*Clean wood free from paint, stain, creosote or chemical treated compounds will be collected, provide they are prepared properly as instructed above.
*No stumps or logs.
